Dublin is Ireland’s capital city, steeped in history and youthful energy. Medieval, Georgian and modern architecture provide a magnificent backdrop to a friendly bustling port, where the cosmopolitan and charming converge in the delightful diversity that is Dublin. There are several fine museums and art galleries that chronicle Dublin’s long and colourful past, while the pubs and cafes buzz with traditional entertainment.  Dublin’s attractions range from castles, museums and art galleries to the lively spirit of Temple Bar.  In comparison to other capitals, Dublin is a vibrant, convivial city with a human scale and an extroverted populace. It is an excellent cultural centre, with traditional and other music venues, theatres and museums, and a long tradition of literature.  Dublin is easily reached with direct flight connections to most major European cities and direct flights to about a dozen cities in the United States.

Dublin City University is a modern University situated half-way between Dublin airport and the City Centre and easily reached from both, with all the facilities one would expect of a modern University campus.

CIVR2004 was a 3-day event with 2 days devoted to a research track and 1 day devoted to a practitioner track.  Proceedings have been published by Springer-Verlag as part of the LNCS series (LNCS vol. 3115), and the conference featured keynote speakers, technical papers, posters, and demonstrations.
